2008 Children's Area Participant Information

The "Arts in the Park", Brookings annual summer arts festival is just around the comer and we have a low
cost, fun and easy fund raising opportunity for you and/or your group!

We are looking for individuals or groups to provide activities and crafts for the Children's Area at this year's
festival. Here's what you need to do:

Mark your calendars for July 12 and 13 (this year's Art Festival dates)

  • Develop a craft or activity for children to make or participate in. Make this something easy and fun!
    Your organization is responsible for providing and setting up all the necessary supplies and
    equipment
  • Set the price. Items priced at $1 - $2 are the most popular and successful. Your organization collects
    all of the proceeds. Historically, 500 - 600 children visit this area each day of the event.
  • Recruit volunteers within your organization to work both days of the festival. (Saturday 10 am - 7 pm
    Sunday 10 am - 5 pm). We suggest arriving early for set up, etc.
  • Gather together your group's marketing materials to have on hand at the festival. Use this opportunity
    for visibility and publicity.
  • Finally, fill out the Children's Area Participant Contract and return to BSAF Children's Area, PO Box 4,
    Brookings, SD 57006 before May 31, 2008.
